At CloudMade, we work hard to create products and services that provide fantastic user experiences for drivers. Using our products and services, drivers gain access to a valuable set of information on the use and operation of their vehicles, information to enhance the driving experience and also to improve vehicle performance.

The products we make require that we collect certain information from our users. We recognize the trust you place in us and we do not take it for granted.
In this document, we describe the information we collect and how it’s used and shared. By “we” or “us”, we mean our company, CloudMade Limited and its subsidiaries and associates (the CloudMade Group), and by “you” we refer to the users of our products and services. We take seriously our responsibility to protect the privacy of your information in accordance with this policy.

What types of data do we collect?

Our services (“Services”) are enabled by a smartphone app (“App”) and our cloud platform. Using the smartphone app, we collect the following types of data:

  • Movement data (Phone GPS)
  • Personal Calendar
  • Call log (for Android version of the App)
  • App Usage analytics
  • Data from vehicle OBD2 dongle device (optional, provided separately)

General data for all vehicles (from OBD2 device):

  • Time, Location (GPS signal), speed (km/h), mileage (distance driving), VIN, OBD2 general available signals (see the detailed vehicle manual for more details about OBD2 signals availability)

Fully fuel cars specific signals:

  • Ignition (on/off), date, acceleration, crash event, RPM (revolutions per minute), fuel level, List of pending Diagnostic Trouble Codes, external battery voltage (mV).

Electric vehicles specific signals:

  • Gear (drive modes), Pedals Positions, Climate and air conditioner (temperature), Doors opening status (+Trunk), lights, Outside temperature, Steering Wheel Angle, Info about Battery (temperature, state of charge, state of health), Engine info, 12V battery (volts), Charger.

How do we process this data?

1. Movement data
The App uses your smartphone’s location services (GPS) to record its location as you drive. Knowing the location helps us to provide you with predictive navigation. For example, we collect your destinations to predict where would you like to go next time. Using this information, we provide you with insight on the traffic information before your departure time that can help you save time, gas and avoid traffic.

2. Contacts Book and Call History
We collect the call history which allows us to learn dependencies between movement data and Communication data so as to define personal patterns and provide you with the predictions of whom you would like to call in different contexts. The access to your Personal Call history and Contact book is requested from you during the first Application launch.

3. Personal Calendar
The App connects to your personal calendar so as to track your calendar events and assist you with the optimal departure time prior to the drive if it is needed. Having access to your personal calendar information allows the Application to be more intelligent and cover your Navigation needs even in irregular or occasional cases. In cases where, the conference dialer information is available in the calendar, we also aid you by providing means for a quick conference call dial up.

4. App usage analytics
We track how you use the CloudMade App and use this information continuously to improve your experiences with our products. Having the detailed usage analytics, allows us to resolve any kind of issues that might occur while using CloudMade products. We use the Google firebase tool and Mixpanel for analytics.

How is the collected data being used?

The data that we collect will help us in providing you with valuable predictions and information about forthcoming trips and help you in planning those trips. The information will help to enhance your overall driving experience and will also improve vehicle performance.

  • Your data will be used to validate your use of the Cloudmade App
  • Your data will also be used to demonstrate CloudMade technologies. Demonstrations will typically be using your installed smartphone App or web application Driver Dashboard you will have access to as well.
  • Your data may need to be used for proof of concept projects with OEMs, in this case we may send data to the OEM, however the data will be anonymized in this case (no user ID or any personal information will be shared)

Who has access to the information that we collect?

Cloudmade operates out of offices in the UK, Germany, US, Ukraine and Japan. CloudMade engineers and other personnel, from CloudMade, have supervised access to your information. Data is stored in a secure environment in the cloud platform (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.). CloudMade may transfer Data in a country or international organisation located outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) to its Group companies, and CloudMade will ensure that it complies with the obligations set out in Data Protection Legislation regarding the transfer of Data to third countries or international organisations and that all necessary safeguards are applied to protect your data.
We do not share your Personal Data with third parties without your explicit permission.

Is your Personal Data stored securely?

At CloudMade, we ensure that we use the proven and the industry standard practices for Data security. Data is always encrypted, both when it is at rest and when in motion. The applications and the infrastructure are regularly tested for security vulnerabilities and hardened to enhance security and protect against attacks. All data is stored and transferred in a secured way according to the solution which was implemented according to the security by design principle. On transit data is encrypted with SSL certificate. At rest data is encrypted with CloudMade’s encryption keys for both live and archive data. All data is pseudo-anonymized and contains only user identifier. Only specific group of people has direct access to the data for analysis since all people are working with results from machine learning algorithms.

What rights do You have on our data?

As a User, the data collected belongs to you and you have the rights over your data. You can at any-time request us to get access to your data. To do so, you need to contact us at support@cloudmade.com

Is there a way to delete my information?

To delete all your data permanently on our servers, you can request us at support@cloudmade.com, at the moment we fully delete the user account, app can be used, but new account should be created.
Since the data is also stored in the App on your Smartphone, delete the App also from your Smartphone.

Will this Privacy Policy change?

Our products and services (and our business) may change from time to time. As a result, at times we may need to make changes to this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time and from time to time without prior notice. However, if we make any material changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice on our website. Please review this policy periodically, and especially before you provide any Personal Data. This Privacy Policy was last updated on the date shown at the beginning of this document. Your continued use of our Services after any changes or revisions to this Privacy Policy represents your agreement with the terms of the revised Privacy Policy.
