About the Role

The mission of the Solutions Specialist is to provide technical expertise, insights and guidance to our OEM customers.  By building a relationship of trust and respect with car makers you will become the beacon that guides their decision making, leading them to launch category defining products with CloudMade.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring that customers’ technical needs are well understood within CloudMade
  • Ensuring that customers understand how CloudMade will satisfy their technical needs
  • Ensuring that the CloudMade solutions proposed to and adopted by customers maximize their chances of commercial success
  • Building a relationship of mutual trust and respect with customers
  • Working with CloudMade bid teams to receive, reply to and win RFIs/RFQs and other projects.

About You

Must Have:

  • Five to seven years of experience as a solutions specialist, technical sales person, solutions architect, technical product manager (or similar position) driving sales processes for technology product companies (preferably in automotive industry)
  • Three or more years of experience in the technical sales (presales) process, including:
  • Three or more years of experience in the technical sales (presales) process, including: 
    • Taking part in sales meetings alongside sales teams 
    • Helping them to explain technological aspects of services and product offerings
    • RFI/RFP analysis and proposal preparations, including fixed-price project proposals 
    • Scope assessment, development effort estimation and delivery schedule definition
  • Understanding of Java/Scala/Python/C++ 
  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science
  • Strong sense of product, use cases and empathy with the end user
  • At least basic knowledge of Machine Learning techniques
  • Excellent communication skills in English and your native language (Japanese for Japan or German for Germany)
  • Willingness and natural inclination to open and facilitate active communication
  • Experience in driving project stakeholder communication, including prospects, clients, third-party vendors and other project stakeholders.

Considered as a plus:

  • Work experience and an active network inside OEMs in your region
  • Sales experience including quota carrying
  • Team/line management experience.
