- How do you monitor use of your services?
- To use any of CloudMade’s services you’ll need an API key. An API is a unique identifier for a particular application. API keys are free and it takes only a few seconds to issue an API key for your application. You can get an API key or read more about API keys.
- Are there any limits on the number of map tiles an application can request?
- There are no limits on the number of map tiles an application can use in any period. All usage is covered by our website terms and conditions that have specific requirements for users of our services.
- Are there any limits to access to other tools and services, like the Style Editor or Location Management?
- CloudMade tools and services like the Style Editor or Location Management are free for use by all CloudMade developers, subject to our general website terms and conditions.
- Can I access your web services outside of Web Maps Lite?
- Our core services like map tiles, geocoding, local search, routing and vector maps can be accessed from a set of RESTful HTTP APIs that are intended for advanced developers who want to do things that aren’t supported by our libraries. If you are using the Standard plan, use of the services is limited to:
- Geocodes: 5,000 request per month
- Local Searches: 5,000 per month
- Routes: 5,000 per month
- Tiles: 500,000 per month
- Vector Server: 500MB per month
- Can I purchase geocoding, reverse geocoding, local search as separate products without limits?

- Location Based Advertising says “coming soon”. When will it be released and how will it work?
- Our first Location Based Advertising (LBA) services are already being used by a handful of Alpha development partners. If you’d like to become an Alpha development partner, get in touch. When the service is released in full it will allow developers to make money from adding CloudMade maps to their applications, by placing targeted, relevant ads onto or near a map and giving developers a share of all proceeds generated from clicks and displays. LBA will be available to developers subscribed to both the Standard and Premier plans. Premier subscribers will have the option to remove advertising, should they choose to.
- What level of SLA do you offer for your Premier service?
- Our Premier services come with SLAs to match your needs. Premier plans come with a 99.9% uptime guarantee. If you need a higher SLA get in touch.
- What products do you have to support mapping within intranets or behind firewalls?
- For customers who need to deploy maps within closed corporate, government or other networks we offer a range of appliance based solutions. Get in touch for more details.
